life's secrets...
Death Note

Has anyone heard about Death Note? I'm sure all of you have, or at least 80% of you reading this have. I've been spending the week reading up the manga, watching the anime, etc etc and I must say, it is an excellent piece of work~ Initially, my reaction was to stay away from it cos it's pretty scary but now that I'm OVER the initial stages, I'm a big fan of it.
The story of Death Note is about a God of Death (shinigami) named Ryuk who feels bored and drops his Death Note into the human world just for kicks. The Death Note is a notebook in which if a person's name is written in it, the person will die. This book is then picked up by a genius student named Yagami Light and he decides to use it to clear the world of bad people by killing them with the Death Note, and thus he became known as Kira (derived from killer). The police force then starts investigations to find Kira (cos y'know, bad people or not, we're not supposed to kill them off on our own judgement). Then, in comes L, a genius investigator and thus the clash between two geniuses begins.
And that's basically the gist of it. The anime has started coming out this fall in Japan and though there's a lot of talking, it still catches my interest. I'm possibly bias but heck, I don't care. Go watch it and judge yourself. I'm pretty certain people will like it. The manga on the other hand, has been completed. For those of you who aren't patient enough to wait for the anime (like me), go read the manga.
Another interesting fact to bestow on you all. Has any of you heard that the movie is coming to Malaysia? Yes, I repeat, the Death Note Live Action Movie is coming to Malaysia! It comes out starting November 9 if my sources are correct. So... ARGHHHHH! I'm excited like CRAZY. Can't wait to go watch it!!! And while the first live action movie airs here in November, in Japan the SECOND movie is airing on the same month~ So all in all, my feelings can only be described in one word : ECSTATIC.
Those of you who DON'T believe me when I say the movie's gonna be GOOD, take a lookie here. Trailers for both movies below from Youtube.
Movie 1
Movie 2
All in all, I highly recommend Death Note to everyone. So do give it a try. ^^ Credits : Picture above taken from a scan done by udanraws~

life's secrets...
Once more I emerge in the blogging world~
Hey everyone. Once again, l0ng time no see. I know I don't often update my blog, but heck, I'm lazy. I know no one bothers to check in here anymore and thats entirely my fault. Haha. So here I am again, in another attempt to blog like a proper blogger. (and this time, I hope I stick around)
It's the Deeparaya hols now and since my bro is in the middle of finals, I'm not going anywhere. Yays for me~ I have a whole week off which I would probably spend doing nothing. Already I've spent the last 3 days just lazing around and constantly haunting the Net and it's probably going to be that way for the rest of the week.
Today, however, I'm pretty happy. Yesterday, I bought the High School Musical VCD and I simply love it~ My mum and I loved it so much, we went to the video shop first thing this morning (cos we thought the VCD wasn't clear enough), so we returned it to get the DVD plus the bonus features and all, which costs rm100 so we had to pay more. I watched the movie twice already in the span of 2 days. Given, it's not exceptionally GREAT or anything (I think Grease was better), but I just love these kinds of musical shows and so I'm still totally excited about it. So excited that I went to One Utama just now, and bought the Soundtrack, which costs another rm40 or so. Haha. I'm obsessed. But good things are worth splurging money for so its money well spent in my opinion. Disney shows are classic and a must-watch. So, for those of you whom haven't seen the show, please do. I highly recommend it. =)
On another note, I've started playing ff12. Nothing great so far but I think it's still a little early to judge. I've barely started the game. =p The characters don't look that great either. Is it because Tetsuya Nomura isn't one of the character designers? Cos I loved ff7,ff8,ff10 and so on. All in which he was part of the design team. Yes, I think Tetsuya Nomura = genius. I saw the ff13 trailer the other day and hooray, character design is left to Nomura-san again. Anyone who appreciates good animation and CG, do take a look at this trailer. It's worth it.

And so, that's all I have to say for today. Happy Deepavali to all and also, Selamat Hari Raya. For those who celebrates neither, happy hols~ =)
